Events Done in 2025-26
 

1. Name of the Program/Event: Legal Awareness Camp and Street Play on Free Legal Aid
Date of the Program/Event: 14th March, 2026.

Details of Participants:
Members of the Legal Services Committee (LSC) along participated in the event. Members of the local community also attended and engaged with the awareness activities.

Report of the Program/Event:
The Legal Services Committee (LSC) conducted a Legal Awareness Camp to inform the high school students of Kusapangi High School, Dompada about the right to free legal aid and the categories of people eligible to receive it. Members interacted with community members and explained the services provided by the Legal Services Authorities.

As part of the initiative, the team performed a street play addressing common misconceptions about free legal aid. The skit highlighted that free legal aid is a legal right and is available to women and children, persons with disabilities, SC/ST members, industrial workers, senior citizens, persons in custody, and individuals below the prescribed income limit. T vided without any fees.

The event helped spread awareness about access to justice and encouraged people to approach the Legal Services Authority for assistance when needed.




 

 

 

 


2. Name of the Program/Event: Zaika and Information booth, held at National Law University Odisha alongside the 3rd Annual Flower Show 2025.
Date of the Program/Event: January 25–26, 2025.
Details of Participants: Students participated by setting up stalls.
Report of the Program/Event: The event was a celebration of food, culture, and creativity. It provided a platform for students to explore cooking, hospitality, and entrepreneurship, fostering teamwork and business skills. LSC set up a booth stall to spread awareness through information pamphlets, brochures etc., which was visited by the general public.











 
 
 
3. Name of the Program/Event: Field visit to Amarendrapur village, an extension activity.
Date of the Program/Event: 8th February 2025.
A collaborative event by the Legal Services Committee (LSC) and students of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) of NLUO.
Details of Participants: Several villagers successfully registered for ABHA cards. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the community.
Report of the Program/Event: The initiative aimed to promote legal awareness and assist villagers in obtaining their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) card. The team set up help desks to facilitate online registration and link ABHA IDs with Aadhaar. A Nukkad Natak (street play) was performed to raise awareness about health rights and Ayushman Bharat benefits. Additionally, a sanitary napkin distribution drive was conducted along with an awareness session on menstrual hygiene.
 







 





 
4. Name of the Program: UNDP OLSA Paralegal Volunteer Training Programme
Date of the Program/Event: August and September 2025.
The Legal Services Committee (LSC) provided assistance through volunteering at the event conducted by the OSLSA, UNDP and National Law University Odisha.
Details of Participants: The participants included Paralegal volunteers from numerous districts of Odisha.
Report of the Program/Event: The Society assisted the OSLSA in a Paralegal Volunteer training programme focusing on basic legal knowledge, the role of paralegals, and community-level legal assistance.
 















5. Name of the Program/Event: Madhubabu Pension Yojana Awareness Camp
Date of the Program/Event: 17th August, 2025
Organized by the Legal Services Committee (LSC).
Details of Participants: Participants included villagers and individuals from surrounding areas.
Report of the Program/Event: The Legal Services Committee (LSC) visited a village to spread awareness about the Madhubabu Pension Yojana where elderly citizens were guided about the benefits of the scheme and we shared our clinic address for any further assistance they may require.
 













6. Name of the Program/Event:  E – Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme by Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha Awareness Camp field visit to Amarendrapur - Pathapur.
Date of the Program/Event: 20th September, 2025
Organized by the Legal Services Committee (LSC).
Details of Participants: Participants included villagers and individuals from surrounding areas.
Report of the Program/Event: LSC conducted an awareness camp on the E-Medhabruti scheme. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students of Odisha whose parental income does not exceed Rs. 8,00,000 per annum. The scheme is available for three categories of courses – undergraduate, postgraduate, and technical and professional courses. We undertook the initiative to spread awareness about the scheme to the community.













 
7. Name of the Program/Event:  DSLA Skit
Date of the Program/Event: 8th November, 2025
Organized by the District State Legal Services Authority
Details of Participants: Members of the Legal Services Committee (LSC) along with volunteers from the student body participated at the event.
Report of the Program/Event: The participants took part in spreading awareness about the prevalence and prohibition of the practice of witch-hunting and conducted a skit in furtherance of the same.
